Functional, good value but odd fit

Nicely made and the right length for me. (At 5' 4" tall I bought short fit) The material is slightly textured and will be warm enough for autumn to spring days on active days.

However the fit is slightly odd - a good fit at the top (waist not too high but where it needs to be) a close fit on my thighs and calves but rather loose above the ankle. So I'll wear these tucked into socks for winter walks/runs/hikes but not use them for more general activities.
